KUKA at AUTOMATICA 2014

Four days, 34,500 visitors from over 100 countries and 731 exhibitors from 42 countries – that was AUTOMATICA 2014 in figures.

KUKA itself could also boast impressive figures at the flagship fair for robotics and automation: approximately 1,200 m2 of exhibition space, over 70 KUKA robots on display throughout the fair, 12 real applications with the sensitive lightweight robot LBR iiwa, 30 participants in the KUKA Innovation Award and countless conversations with customers.

In Munich from 3 to 6 June 2014, everything revolved around robotics and automation.At AUTOMATICA 2014, KUKA presented a new dimension of robotics in a spectacular booth concept, the focal point of which was human-robot collaboration with the lightweight robot LBR iiwa. A range of applications from industrial and service robotics invited visitors to directly interact with the robot.

Next to the main booth was another crowd-puller: the KUKA moiros booth, which showcased the mobile concept study consisting of a KR QUANTEC robot, a KUKA omniMove platform and autonomous navigation software. In addition, the presentation of the first KUKA Innovation Award for innovative developments in mobile manipulation also aroused a great deal of attention. The team from the University of Zurich took home the prize.
